Seajacks Hydra Delivered Ahead Of Schedule

Seajacks International, a world leading offshore installation and maintenance contractor in the offshore wind and oil and gas sectors, has taken successful delivery of its fourth self-propelled jack-up vessel, the ‘Seajacks Hydra’.
Hydra will join Seajacks’ growing and impressive fleet of modern vessels, which currently includes the Kraken, Leviathan and Zaratan. Completing Seajacks’ suite of services in the offshore wind sector, Scylla will be delivered next year as the world’s largest installation vessel to date. Of the vessels currently in operation, all are active and contracted in the Irish and North Sea undertaking projects within the oil and gas and offshore wind industries.
Commenting on the delivery of Seajacks Hydra, Blair Ainslie, Seajacks CEO said: “Since 2009, Seajacks has completed nearly 2000 successful jacking operations in the harsh environment of the North Sea. During this time, our vessels have proven themselves in a variety of demanding soil and weather conditions. Most importantly, this has been done while maintaining our exceptional standards of health and safety.
Seajacks is interested in working with clients who have a commitment to excellence and share our goal of achieving a safe, cost effective and well run project. In Hydra, we believe that the Seajacks and Lamprell project teams have constructed a jack-up vessel that can achieve this goal all year round in the challenging and harsh environment of the North Sea. Whether she is working in the oil and gas or offshore wind industries, she will operate effectively and efficiently and achieve the highest levels of operating up time.”
Seajacks Hydra will have an enhanced jacking system, improved automation, increased space management, increased POB, and an upgraded crane capacity, which will offer 400 tonnes at a radius of 18.5m.
Next year, Seajacks will deliver its largest vessel to date, the ‘Seajacks Scylla’, which is being built by Samsung Heavy Industries in Korea.
