In December 2011, Seajacks Kraken was contracted by Shell UK and NAM, to provide maintenance support for a 2 year well servicing project in the Southern North Sea.

The Kraken was mobilised in December 2011 at the Dutch port of Ijmuiden, where the vessel was modified with a full well servicing package.

By the contract’s end, Kraken operated on around 50 platforms, providing maintenance that should prolong the life expectancy of some wells by 10 years.

Backed up by data collected during the Shell campaign, this state-of-the-art vessel is now a proven and cost-efficient technology that facilitates production enhancement, maintenance and decommissioning of Southern North Sea infrastructure safely and effectively.
